Padel Club Spoje opened in 2023 at the TJ Spoje tennis complex in Balkán, close to Vítkov hill and the surrounding park woodland. Two outdoor artificial-turf courts have artificial lighting and their own outdoor seating right by the fence, so play continues after dark and there's nowhere to go after a match.
The complex around the courts is a remnant of a major Prague sports club: TJ Spoje was formed in 1948 by merging footballers, national handball players and Žižkov's Sokol members, who had already played at Balkán before that. Today it still has a grass football pitch measuring one hundred eight by sixty-five meters, a floodlit artificial-surface pitch, tennis courts, a sports hall, a restaurant with a terrace and a children's playground. Padel was bolted onto the tennis section — which is why the club's contact email belongs to the tennis side. It's a ten-minute walk from Flora metro station, or five minutes by tram lines 5, 9, 15 and 26.
The club leans toward social rather than league padel. Coaches David Klein and Terezie Štěpánová run three programs: Padel.Intro, a one-hour first taste of the game for one to four players; the two-hour Padel.Morning covering technique, tactics and matches for four to eight people; and Padel.Kids for children. Regular Americano-format tournaments and the club's own league also run. A weekday-morning hour costs four hundred eighty crowns, afternoons and weekends five hundred twenty; racket rental is one hundred crowns, lighting sixty and a set of balls one hundred sixty.
