VARPU Tennis & Padel Club

VARPU is a tennis and padel club on Vārpu Street in Mārupe, just a few kilometres from Riga's border and the airport. Two outdoor padel courts have been added to an already-existing tennis complex, so padel here is the newest addition rather than the club's foundation.

Since the courts are outdoors, the season in Latvia effectively ends with the cold — they operate in summer and the shoulder months, and in winter players move to Riga's indoor halls. That's exactly why the small outdoor clubs around Mārupe are more affordable than the big halls.

Mārupe has become one of the densest padel areas in Latvia in recent years: within a few kilometres are both MH Padel clubs, JD Padel in Vīkuļi, and this court. For players from Mārupe, Piņķi, and western Riga, this is the nearest outdoor padel.
