Padel is a racket sport played in doubles on a 20 by 10 metre court enclosed by glass walls and wire mesh. Scoring follows tennis, and the bat is solid and perforated rather than strung.
It started in Mexico in the late 1960s and spread through Spain and Argentina, where it is now one of the most played sports of all. Georgia picked it up after 2022: PADO now lists 42 clubs and 113 courts across 15 cities and resorts.
It is easy to start: the court is small, the serve is underarm and the walls keep the ball in play, so a beginner plays a real match on day one. It is always four players, so you need three partners — and if you do not have them, the clubs run open games.
1. Doubles only, two against two, on an enclosed court of 20 × 10 metres.
2. The serve is underarm, below waist height, after one bounce, diagonally into the opponents’ box.
3. The ball may bounce only once on your side before you hit it.
4. After the bounce the ball may come off the walls and play continues — which is why rallies run much longer than in tennis.
5. If the ball hits a wall straight out of the air, without bouncing first, the point is lost.
6. Scoring is tennis scoring: 15, 30, 40, game. A set is won at six games with a two-game margin.
7. At 40-40 most clubs play the golden point: one point decides the game, no advantages.
8. The ball can be played out over the fence and returned from outside the court — rare at amateur level, but legal.
A padel court is 20 metres long and 10 metres wide — 200 square metres in total. The glass walls are 3 metres high, with wire mesh up to 4 metres along the sides. The net is 0.88 metres in the middle and 0.92 at the posts.
A singles tennis court, by comparison, is 23.77 × 8.23 metres and open. Padel asks for less running and more positioning, and one tennis court splits into two padel courts — which is how several Georgian tennis venues added padel.
A large share of Georgian courts sit at resorts and hotels — that is what makes this market unusual. In Gudauri, next to the Marco Polo hotel, you can play after a day on the ski slopes, at 2,000 metres. On the Black Sea there are courts in Kobuleti, Shekvetili and Buknari. In Kakheti they come with the wine route: Kvareli, Tsinandali, Kachreti and Bodbe, the last one beside the Ambassadori golf resort. Sairme has a court inside its spa complex.
PADO lists all 42 Georgian clubs and 113 courts, including the small ones in Sairme, Buknari and Bodbe that international apps do not carry.
Availability is live: you see which court is free today, at what time and at what price, without calling the club, and you book in the same place.

At some point it became clear that the problem was no longer how to run another tournament. They needed a system that would let them manage a large padel community in Warsaw properly.

Why tournaments with groups and playoffs are worth running in a padel community, how to work out participants, courts, matches and the schedule, and how PADO simplifies large tournaments.
Between 30 and 80 GEL, depending on the city and the time slot. Tbilisi 30–80 GEL, Batumi 35–80, Kutaisi 40–60, Rustavi a flat 60. The table above shows each club’s rate.
In Tbilisi — 20 clubs and 70 courts. Then Batumi with 5 clubs and 10 courts, Kutaisi with 6 courts and Rustavi with 5.
Yes, but indoor courts are scarce in Georgia. In Tbilisi the fully indoor clubs are Padelbade Krtsanisi, Padel Academy of Georgia and Padelbade Dighomi. The court type is listed on every club page.
Padel is doubles, so four players. If you have no partners, clubs and communities run open games and tournaments you can enter individually.
